Pads of a blepper which have various designs and patterns on them. This does not alter the pad's shape.

Quills located on the base of the tail.

• Straight tails like the butterfly and moth have their quills vertically lined, running up the spine along the tail
• Spiral tails like the shell and sprout will have their quills vertically lined, curling around the tail

• Shorn tails such as the tiger, point, and striker have their quills horizontally fanned out across the rear
